Pledge Description

This Scholarship Programme has been established by the Marine Institute and PLOCAN and it forms a contribution to developing the ocean energy sector, including the formation of test-bed sites that provide sea-state testing opportunities for researchers and technology developers. The scholarships are a case study to stimulate similar initiatives in the Atlantic border countries promoting transatlantic networks in the future.

Pledge Deliverables

Scholarship awards to Higher Education Institutes to support postgraduate training to PhD or MSc level.
Development of novel research by the successful candidates recruited by these institutes whilst studying for a higher degree. The scholarships will address a research challenge associated with advanced ocean technology development and/or ocean observing systems, with components of the proposed research conducted both at test-bed and demonstration facilities in Ireland and Spain.
