+ATLANTIC is currently collecting near real time data, from several data providers, standardising and making them available through the EMODnet portal

This service provides uniform access to river data products on both sides of the Atlantic (currently, US and Europe) and can reach other areas.

Pledge Description

Many Blue Economy activities and ecosystem services in coastal areas (aquaculture, ports, fisheries, tourism, etc.) are influenced by river flow variability, nutrient loads and other land inputs like sewage and litter. To improve the characterisation of the coastal area, it is key to have access to standardised river data. This action aims to make available existing information which may then be easily accessed and used by all types of Atlantic Ocean stakeholders.

Pledge Deliverables

A list of river data providers in the Belem and Galway Statements areas, and other Atlantic countries, including the most relevant stations for coastal zone managers. River data will include flow and physicochemical data as available. The data will be incorporated continuously and made available through EMODnet physics data portal.
