Pledge Description

MBON is a global network and community of practice advancing observation and forecasting of marine life for the benefit of society. MBON pledges to promote collaborations between stakeholders along and across the Atlantic, to converge on best practices and standards for marine biodiversity data collection, analysis, curation, and publication, increasing cross-sectoral and cross-border collaborations.

Pledge Deliverables

MBON will promote the operational collection of biodiversity observations. Specifically, within 10-y MBON aims to deliver:
1. Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBV) built on Essential Ocean Variables (EOV).
2. Best practices in data management, including standards that aid interoperability and data integration, and publication on open-source databases.
3. Capacity exchange (capacity building training workshops).
4. Partner with others to deliver knowledge products for society.
